The Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE (GippsTAFE) is a rurally based institute in Victoria with 5 campuses (1 in Melbourne). Although a relatively small institute it delivers around 1 million student contact hours per year. Their Online programmes cater for approximately 3,000 students. Approximately half of these students learn in a blended environment. That is, these students have face-to-face classes which are supplemented with online technologies. The other half of GippsTAFE students, numbering approximately 1,500, study solely online.
