Exercise - Welcome Students with their First Voice Email

  1. Give the email a subject line of, "Visit your new and improved Blackboard course!"
  2. Make a lively recording inviting students to try the new Voice Tools that have been added to Blackboard.
  3. Type a message with instructions on how to get to the course and play your message.
  4. Send the message on its merry way.

Exercise - Spark Dialogue Between Students with a Suggestion Board

  1. Name the board, "Course Feedback Voice Board."
  2. Describe this Board via text. Inform students it is their sounding board for suggestions on how to improve class, and provide their thoughts on how the semester is going.
  3. View the most recent messages at the top of the Board.
  4. Allow students to see each other's messages and start a new thread.
  5. Limit recording time to 1 minute.
  6. Post the first message. Include a vocal synopsis of the Board's purpose, as well as text on how to use the features of the Board.
