Featured Client - Department of Education and Children's Services, South Australia
The Department of Education and Children’s Services (DECS) is responsible for ensuring the provision of children’s services and public education throughout South Australia. NetSpot has worked with DECS on the introduction of Moodle for schools and on the development of and hosting for their "Digital Learning Bank" of learning objects for teachers and students.
NetSpot has supported a long-term staged roll out of the Moodle Learning Management System for DECS, commencing with an initial cohort of 20 schools. Just 24 months later, 150+ schools have opted-in to have their own dedicated Moodle instances and the system enjoys support for up to 11,000 accounts.
NetSpot as a Moodle, Wimba and The Learning Edge Partner has worked closely with DECS in designing approaches and providing resources which support the educational objectives of the department both from a technical and teaching point of view.
NetSpot has a responsibility for project management as well as technical support and managed hosting. With a dedicated server environment, NetSpot's managed hosting is backed by a Service Level Agreement which includes 99.5% server and application up time, RAID Array, mail server, custom web stats, support for scheduled Moodle upgrades, automated server reporting and alerts, email and phone ticketing system for issues resolution and guaranteed response and resolution times for a range of reported issue categories.
