Announcement

The University of Ballarat moves to Moodle

Late last year, the University of Ballarat (UB) announced a move to Moodle from their current LMS (Blackboard CE) with Moodle being its sole LMS from semester 1, 2011.  It was a clear recommendation to move to Moodle with comments in their final report such as the following:

Moodle has no shareholders to please. The Moodle community shapes the development of the software in the interests of education, not profit. UB would be free to modify Moodle as it wishes, and run as many instances of it as required. During the trial, it was found to be simpler and faster to use than Blackboard (including our trial of Learn 9.0) and students were overwhelmingly in favour of it. It integrates well with other systems and adheres strongly to industry standards.
