Technology and Stake Holders:
Massey University:
With a tradition of academic excellence, Massey is the nearest thing New Zealand has to a national university. It has nearly 41,000 students enrolled on three campuses, with 21,000 nationally and worldwide extramural students on its roll.
The Palmerston North campus (middle of North Island) has its beginnings as an agricultural college, which goes back to its creation in 1927, has gradually integrated other disciplines into building today's wide-ranging academic portfolio. The now flourishing Albany campus (north of North Island) in Auckland opened in 1993 on a greenfields site to meet the needs of Auckland's growing North Shore.
The Wellington campus (south of North Island) was established when the University acquired a world-class School of Design and Conservatorium of Music in a merger with Wellington Polytechnic in 1998.
School of Language Studies:
The School of Language Studies includes teaching programmes in East Asian Studies, European Languages, Linguistics and Second Language Teaching and English for Academic Purposes. Our international academic staff includes well-published scholars and experienced instructors from Eurasia, the Americas, and Australasia.
Training and Development Unit
Massey University maintains a Training and Development Centre to coordinate staff training and development activities; conduct needs analyses and training; advise on training and development policies and strategies to enable the University to meet its obligations and objectives under its Charter and implement its plans; and assist managers to meet their responsibilities with regard to professional development of their staff.
