Premium Hosting (AARNet)

NetSpot offers enterprise level Australian based managed hosting services including gigabit connectivity to AARNet, 24x7 monitoring and response, nightly backups, infrastructure from tier 1 vendors, options for disaster recovery, and well defined upgrade practices such as upgrade staging and regular maintenance windows. Our services are designed for mid-sized to large organisations where elearning is mission critical.

NetSpot provides comprehensive, reliable and flexible elearning solutions, including premium hosting, integration and consulting service and extended hours help desk service for students and staff.

Help Desk (extended hours)

NetSpot provides an end-user help desk to support both students and staff with technical and usage issues. We support the Moodle application, browsers, personal firewalls, and java.

The help desk is available via a freecall 1800 number as well as by email and is available weekdays from 8am to 10pm and weekends and public holidays from 9am to 5pm.

Integration Services

NetSpot has experience and expertise in integrating third-party applications with Moodle as well as integrating Moodle with student management and authentication systems. We have a dedicated team of developers and we are very familiar with the issues to consider when integrating systems, and can provide development services as well as valuable strategic advice.

Migration and other Consulting

NetSpot has extensive experience implementing technology for elearning, but we also have an understanding of the educational and pedagogical principles underpinning elearning.

This experience, gained over the past decade enables us to provide strategic advice on how to effectively implement and manage elearning systems. We can provide specific advice on how to manage upgrades, migrations and integrations as well as how to support and manage change.

Open source systems for eLearning

Open source systems have significant appeal, from no software license fees, through to the limitless possibilities to extend and customize the system.

However, using open-source systems for mission critical applications (such as elearning) can pose significant risks for an organisation, but these risks can be reduced by partnering with an organisation that provides the same levels of service and support which are provided by vendors of commercial learning management systems.

Often service providers for open source systems provide low cost and low service level solutions to meet the demands of small operators. By contrast NetSpot is a premium service provider, and we cater to the needs of organisations who view elearning as a strategic and therefore mission critical component of their operation.
