Mahara Training

Not all Mahara deployments are the same, and neither are the requirements
for training for any group of Mahara users. NetSpot's custom Mahara training sessions are delivered by expert trainers and are tailored to the specific needs of the client.

User Focused Training
NetSpot can provide Mahara training for support staff, course developers, educators and administrators, all delivered by trainers who are also experienced Mahara practitioners.

By engaging NetSpot to provide a tailored Mahara training session, you will have a say in the content of the sessions, the delivery method and the level of
structure and interaction involved.

This leads to higher rates of participant satisfaction, rapid development of the specific knowledge required to deliver learning in your environment and greater value for money than a generic training session which aims to cater to the masses.

Built on best practice, the workshops then draw on in-depth knowledge of Mahara. This experience helps to ensure that the workshop is focused on the typical user
experience, questions and queries.

By creating Mahara specific training, the risk of participants returning to work without the knowledge they need is greatly reduced.

Hands-on Delivery
We have designed the training sessions to be predominantly hands-on. Throughout the training session we will identify additional materials available online through the Mahara community. We have structured our training sessions to deliver the
best outcome for knowledge transfer.

Own Computer
We teach using practical method which involves active participation in the training session. This helps to ensure that the user understands what is being taught and misunderstandings are resolved immediately.

Smaller Sessions
Smaller groups mean that there is greater participation and interaction per session. We keep the sessions to a maximum of fifteen allowing for questions and different learning paces.

Utilising Client's Mahara Site
By getting participants to utilise their own Mahara site they become familiar with the environment and are able to retain work for later use.

Flexible Training Structure
All training sessions aim to give a flexible training structure for NetSpot clients.
The modules listed below take approximately 90 minutes to complete, and can
either be bundled into four-session training days delivered on-site at the client's
location, or delivered individually via the Wimba Classroom.

Module 4: Creating your ePortfolio
Module 5: Social networking and group collaboration
Module 6: Sharing your ePortfolio with the world

Module 8: Integrating Mahara with Moodle

Qualified Trainers
NetSpot has experienced Mahara trainers who are qualified to develop and run training sessions. We believe training is an important step in moving to Mahara.
